“Iconic Swedish musician and producer Peter Tgtgren, who has worked with genre titans like Sabaton, Amon Amarth, Dimmu Borgir, Celtic Frost in the past, launched PAIN in 1996 as a side project combining electronic with heavy music and try out different soundscapes than his death metal group Hypocrisy would allow for. Being a masterful songwriter, Tgtgren quickly developed PAIN further, releasing eight albums until 2016 featuring multimillion streamed tracks like Shut Your Mouth, Same Old Song, Follow Me, Zombie Slam, End Of The Line and succeeding in a gold award for 2002s Nothing Remains The Same in their home country and over 30 chart entries worldwide. Renowned as a stunning live band, through the past decades PAINs ingenious mix of catchy hooks, dark, tongue in cheek humour, elements from synth/wave, electro, pop, metal and rock stood the test of time by being addictive, danceable, defiant, unique. In 2021, PAIN dropped smash hit Party In My Head (45M+ streams, 9M+ views), hit the road and built excitement for their much-lauded ninth album I Am, released on May 17th, 2024. The buzz around the band boosted demand for their early classics, which had been out of print for years and never available on vinyl. After Nuclear Blast Records properly reissued Nothing Remains The Same (2002) and Dancing With The Dead (2005) last year with all audio remastered by Jonas Kjellgren at Black Lounge Studios, now the debut Pain (1996), its successor Rebirth (1999), and fifth album Psalms Of Extinction (2007) get the same treatment inviting PAINheads, new and old, to experience these milestones in their definitive editions out on May 15th, 2026. Unstoppable in their quest to bring you the sweet ecstasy of PAIN, after headline runs through Europe/UK and performing at all key festivals, PAIN will join Eluveitie on their fall tour besides another batch of festivals in 2026.”
